I spoke to my rheumy about the tingling and needle pain I get in my hands and ankles, and he decided that we hold off on the Humira for now because I am positive that's what is causing it. I have an appt with him in June to start on a new med, most likely Enbrel. I am just worried that Enbrel will result in the same effect, yes maybe the inflammation in my back will get better, but then I am looking at neurological problems and possibly symptoms of MS down the road. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Does anyone get a needle and pin sensation in their hands or ankles while on Humira? Can this be a serious side effect? I feel like my hands and ankles are almost in more pain on Humira, or maybe its just the process of the medication getting to work on my inflamed joints. Any thoughts?

I stopped my Humira injections about 5 months ago without my Rheumy's consent. My plan was to treat it myself through a strict diet (which did help up until recently I decided to indulge in certain trigger foods). About four weeks ago the pain came back with a vengeance and has left my SI joints in a world of pain. My options are to start Humira again before I see my Rheumy in June or stick it out with an auto-immune protocol to lessen the inflammation naturally. Any thoughts?

I seem to have different types of pain depending on swelling and was wondering if this is common. I have what I call dry, bone pain where the bones of my spine and hips seem to grind against each other and sharp cracking for a few days and then I get a fluidlike pain and when I lie down on my stomach it feels like the spine is actually moving. I have sharp pain in my ankles and wrists and swelling and stiffness in my elbows, hips and now shoulders and knees. Does anyone else deal with this?

Hi. I have been suffering with inflammation in my right shoulder which is very painful some days and can be restricting too. I have had a steroid injection in the joint which didn't help at all. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if there is anything else the doctors can do?

Is anyone taking prednisone (or other oral steroids) longer term? I am thinking of asking my rheumy to prescribe for more than a standard Medrol pack. When I'm on steroids it's best I've felt - for days in a row - for years. I'm off them again now and I'm fatigued, a new joint has flared up, my c-spin is killing me, etc. I know there are side effects of long-term use . . . But might it be worth it?

Hi, I was recently diagnoses with AS, SI Joint Dysfunction, nerve damage and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, I am waiting on a rheumatologist appt and will be tested for RA as well. Between the first 4 issues I am trying to deal with inflammation, stiffness and severe pain on a weekly basis, at least 3 days a week. Exercise sometimes makes me feel better and many times causes the si joint to spasm and cause pain and inability to stand. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Am feeling bad right now. I've been in an intense flare for about ten days, and I've gone to whole foods only to try to reduce the inflammation. The pain is starting to wear me down, though. I am having terrible Sjogren's symptoms and other glands in my body have begun to fail. I'm so discouraged. Does anyone else have multiglandural autoimmune syndrome?
