Help have pain in foot realy bad started in ankle now can not bend it certin way i can walk 1 hour 30 miniuts a day cant now and as for working out cant do has come on so suddon my spelling is so bad please forgive

Just curios if anyone has had their AS start out in their feet or one foot. At the age of 20 my right foot swelled up really big and the pain was very great. I went to several doctors but none could tell what was causing the pain and my foot to swell up. I was eventually sent to a rheumatologist who, based on my HLA-27 gene said I have a disease in the family of AS. My pain has sense move to the lower back area. However, it comes and goes. At times I believe I do stuff to cause it to flare up.

Hello All, I'm just wondering how many of us struggle with foot pain. It may be that I've overestimated how common the issue is. Would you take a minute to respond if you experience regular foot pain that corresponds to other symptoms of disease activity? Thanks so much!

Hi, I now have AS in my foot, I wear good shoes (orthopidic) and they help alot, I've tried putting it on ice I think it made it worse. Does anyone have anything that helps them? I know it likes rest but Im going travelling for a few months so will be on my feet alot! I'm really worried, anyone recommend anything?

I can't get the excruciating pain in my feet to let up. I'm just exhausted from the pain. Is there any way to get permanent relief, any surgical options, etc. That can end the foot pain?
I have had awful tenderness/pain in the bottom of my feet when I step off the bed in the morning and after sitting for a period of time. It can be very painful...but also goes away most of the time by walking. I looked on the web and found that it is a common symptom found with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Does anyone know a remedy or anything that may help alleviate this pain in my feet?

Just wondering if anyone else suffers with heel pain. I have A.S. I have sooo much pain all over, now in the heel of my left foot, so bad I hate to walk on it. This has been going on now about a month and I feel pain starting in right foot now in same location. I have no insurance coverage until Dec 2011. Any suggestions?
