Flu-like fatigue, aches & pains & sometimes chills have been bothering me for years. Is this considered a flare-up? My rheumy has talked about fibromyalgia, but it is unclear to me if what I am feeling is an AS symptom, or fibromyalgia. Also, when I feel this way, my body temp drops to 97.1. Does this happen to others? (I was only recently diagnosed and have been on Humira for 4 months).

I have been suffering from horrible fatigue lately and am getting really frustrated with it. I feel like I'm SO lazy and it's making me angry with myself! My neck, left SI joint, shoulders, hips and hands are also really bothering me. I'm super achy, stiff and tired. Any advice on things I can do to feel better besides taking even more meds?

Suffering from fatigue at the moment, but not sure if its partly to do with the cold, dark weather in Scotland just now. Has anyone tried a SAD lamp?

I was just diagnosed with AS about 3 weeks ago. The day I was diagnosed I was on the last legs of a virus. In order to get treatment going, I had a flu shot & a pneumonia shot at the rheumy's office. About 10 days later I got my first Humira injection. Some time in there I got a sore thoat, which turned into a huge cold. I am WIPED OUT & have been for a couple of weeks. Which of those variables- AS, Humira, virus -- is causing the fatigue & how can I help myself get some energy back?

First injection of Humira this week. Is extreme fatigue, slight light-headedness still normal on the 6th day after my 1st injection? My son asked yesterday if I was on drugs because I look so out of it. I'm really having trouble paying attention.

Could someone please explain why I feel flu-ish when I don't get any sleep? Does it have to do with our immune system? I feel like hell! I want to go back to normal!

Who has trouble driving. Shortly after My back and Neck started fusing. I have no rotation in my back and my neck is fairly limited. I can not go any farther then maybe 2-4 miles round trip before my neck starts locking up. I often hold on to the handles when riding just to support myself in turns?

How does everyone battle the Fatigue? I feel so old having to take naps in the early afternoon. At work, I just can't seem to focus either because of the exhaustion. I worry that my friends and family are beginning to think I am lazy...

Now that I am back on Sulfasalazine I'm having some good days that I can at least get out of bed. I have some realistic goals with my riding, but wanting to know does it make it worse if you push yourself on the bad days? Or is it better to rest and take advantage of those good days? The pain never stops, but overall I am feeling better though I will never feel "normal" and am coming to grips with that.

Am feeling bad right now. I've been in an intense flare for about ten days, and I've gone to whole foods only to try to reduce the inflammation. The pain is starting to wear me down, though. I am having terrible Sjogren's symptoms and other glands in my body have begun to fail. I'm so discouraged. Does anyone else have multiglandural autoimmune syndrome?
