Hi All, I've been letting AS kick my butt for the better part of a year now. The fatigue has been terrible, and I've just been giving in to it. Well, I'm sick of it, so I'm currently trying to kick back. I've been getting out and walking/jogging with my Doberman over the last week, and my heel pain is incredible. I don't want to stop, though. Can anyone offer some helpful hints on minimizing the pain?

Hello! I'm 30yrs old and have been carrying this "burden" pain for the last 7 years, with episodes os SI and cervical hell... In the intervals between the flares I decided to train boxing and muay thai - and I got some serius relief. It has *lots* os stretching, and muscle building. Since I started, the pain is milder, even during flare-ups, and the last one was 1 and a half year ago. Have anyone here tried this kind of exercise? What was your experience on it? Thanks for the attention!

Does anyone here snow shoe or cross county ski? What would be easier for me nad my joints?

On the subject of exercise, has anyone heard of Gyrotonic, or Gyrokenesis? I have taken both types before, during and after a flare and it is awesome! It's hard to find a studio, and somewhat expensive. Just wondering if anyone else had the same experience with it as I did . I love it!

Hi, I am wondering if there is anyone in this group that can give me some tips on how to live more comfortably with Sacroiliitis. My spine pain is so-so but the inflamed SI joints make my life miserable. Sitting, standing and walking are hell. I have been naively seeing a Rheumtologist that just doesn't want to deal with it. He wants me to take Prednisone long term and that barely touches the SI pain. Looking for exercises, sitting devices or any tips at all. Going for a 2nd opinion?

Haven't been too active on here lately, but curious about something. Has anyone really tried to push the limits with AS? I've been working out really hard lately, but sometimes find myself frustrated with my limitations. Anyone have similar experiences? How have you dealt with it? If you're looking for my background, I'm 26 and on Remicade.

Can someone provide a link or a copy of the diet they use for Crohn's and AS? I have Googled this many times and come up with confusing answers about what we can and cannot eat. I would like to know from someone who has one or both of these diseases and actually eats this way. I have tried some of the things I found on Google and sometimes it made my pain worse, don't know if I didn't wait long enough before giving in or if it just didn't work for me.

I'm 31 years old, and was diagnosed with AS when I was 9. I take Aleve, and after having a period of serious degeneration have started a no starch diet and am currently exploring stretching and exercise options. I've been eating well for less than two months and I feel 85% better. I don't trust most doctors or the crap they prescribe. Anyone have any advice about diet, exercise, and finding a doctor who is not a close-minded, lazy thinker with no people skills? Props to staying strong, yo!

Now that I know what is wrong with me, I feel like I can start re-building my strength. My question is, has anyone else noticed that the pain gets worse when you exercise? I know it is supposed to help, but it seems that the longer I keep trying, the worse it gets. I am doing very simple strengthening and walking around a block with a slight hill. It is killing me! Or is it just that the Humira isn't working any more?
