Anyone work in a hospital setting while being on a TNF blocker? I am just curious about the risk of various illness that can be inherited while having a weaker than normal immune system. Or is this not the case?

Just got the phone call from the Encourage Foundation and I qualified for assistance for Enbrel and should receive it this week. Already set up my class to learn how to inject myself, even though I am pretty sure I know most of it. But super excited and just wanted to pass it along! I spoke to my rheumy about the tingling and needle pain I get in my hands and ankles, and he decided that we hold off on the Humira for now because I am positive that's what is causing it. I have an appt with him in June to start on a new med, most likely Enbrel. I am just worried that Enbrel will result in the same effect, yes maybe the inflammation in my back will get better, but then I am looking at neurological problems and possibly symptoms of MS down the road. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Alright folks I know I post a lot on here but I have another question. My rheumatologist and I decided to go with Enbrel. I had all the blood test done and chest xrays, now I am waiting for those results. My question is: Those of you taking Enbrel, have you noticed any weight gain? Also, how long did it take to get the assistance and get started on Enbrel? Thanks

Saw my Rheumatologist today and he wants me to think about doing a 3 month trial with Humira or Enbrel. Anyone out there have better relief with any of the TNF blockers? Is it worth it? How hard was it to qualify for assistance through these companies since I have no ins? Thanks!

I have been on enbrel since June. It was helping, but each week I dread the pain the shot causes me. It feels like jagged razors are coursing through my leg. I had to go off it for a few weeks due to a sinus infection. Now the thought of getting the injection again is horrible. I sat there until I was just about in a panic attack and now I can't go through with it. I know it will help, but I just can't do it. Did this happen to anyone?

I have rheumatoid arthritis I am currently on Arava and Enbrel. I was on Methatrexate for years before but the side affects were too harsh. Im having a lot of trouble with my Enbrel injection I inject once a week with a sure-click on my thigh I leave it out for about an hour before Yet it burns a lot when i do it and when the pen clicks when it's done some liquid rejects out of my thigh I dont have much fat at all on my stomach and im scared to do it there. Any suggestions on reducing the pain?

I was diagnosed with A.S. In 2006 when I was 25, and since then all of the pain that I experience is in my ribs and upper spine, with occasional flares in my hips. When I get xrays done all of the damage appears in my lower spine, SI joints, with no damage in my upper back. Does anyone else have this experience? I just wonder why I all my pain is not associated with the area that's receiving permanent fusion.

Hi all I am from India. I have taken remicade and developped tuberculosis as side effect. Now i am taking enbrel for last 5 months but will be running out of money to afford it for long. My rheumatologist said that if I continue it for another month(total 6 months) then enbrel's effect might go up to one to two years. What is your experience? I am in a field based job and an agriculturist by profession.How long I could continue field job? Is a sitting job better?
