I stopped my Humira injections about 5 months ago without my Rheumy's consent. My plan was to treat it myself through a strict diet (which did help up until recently I decided to indulge in certain trigger foods). About four weeks ago the pain came back with a vengeance and has left my SI joints in a world of pain. My options are to start Humira again before I see my Rheumy in June or stick it out with an auto-immune protocol to lessen the inflammation naturally. Any thoughts?

My Dr just started me on Gabapentin for neuropathic pain that she believes I'm experiencing due to the auto immune aspect of AS. I've been in pain for 4 years all over my entire body anyone experience this or familiar with this drug?

Has anyone been treated for Grave's disease as well? I had a 17 yr remission from AS but during that time I was diagnosed with Grave's & given radioactive iodine which destroyed my thyroid. After they finally found the right dosage of Synthroid, I was stable for 6 yrs. Now, since January, my required dosage has doubled but my AS is back in full force. With both being autoimmune diseases, I'm thinking there must be a connection.
