Recently had mri due to numbness, pain and itching on my left outside thigh. Have had it for a few years but recently has gotten worse and more frequent. Rheumy called and said mri showed I have "fairly severe" spinal stenosis from T 5 to L1. They referred me to the Spinal Hospital, and I go in early March. They said they will probably give me a spinal injection. Anyone have experience/knowledge on those? And does anyone else have stenosis due to AS? It's kind of scary...

Had thoracic and lumbar MRI and they saw no fusion. I am being recommended to see a neurologist. I feel like nobody believes the severe pain I am in because there is no sign of fusion. Anyone else diagnosed with AS but your MRIs come back normal? I had x-rays and nuclear bone scan which showed inflammation, but rheumy says no biologic meds until fusion starts. How do I get them to believe the pain is severe even though there is no fusion?!

So my doctor has agreed on sending me for an MRI because the pain in my back and neck are so severe. However, the order was for the cervical neck only. I called and she is on vacation, so I opted to cancel the MRI at this time and wait for her to come back and hopefully order images for neck, thoracic, and lumbar. I feel like doing it all in one shot is much easier and will give me more answers. Thoughts?

MRI Results today, Degenerative Lumbar Spine worse at right L5-S1, mid thoracic vertebral hemangioma, stenosis, foraminal narrowing, disc bulge, decrease T1 signal showing red marrow, hyperintensity, C spine lordosis, anterolisthesis. Has anyone had anything that sounds familiar? He said there was no inflammation shown, just degeneration, bulging discs and hemangioma...has anyone had this result from and MRI before? No inflammation on MRI but ESR, C-Reactive=inflammation in blood tests.

I'm going in for a second MRI tomorrow where they have to inject contrast for my cervical and throasic spine, it's going to be open, them having to put a big brace on me and strapping me down to the table so I don't move made me have a panic attack and just break down crying, I have been a wreck all day today, they gave me valium for before the MRI but I can't seem to calm my nerves, can anyone help or does anyone have any suggestions? I'd really appreciate them :(

So the MRI on my lower back showed degeneration and bulging discs, and my neck showed something there and I have to go back for another neck and middle back MRI in a week. Did anyone else have these results on the MRI? The Rheum called me today and said there was no inflammation shown, so is that his way of telling me that this isn't AS? He's being very stubborn about things and I don't know what else to bring to the table.

Had a MRI on just my lower back and Rheumy said no fusion in that area but he found disc disease and narrowing of my spine. He will do the rest of my back soon. Anyone else have narrowing and disc disease also? If so, what can I look for?

My docs said there wasn't anything "major" on my T & C spine MRIs, but I have 2 hemangiomas (benign tumors), several Schmorl's nodes & degenerative "wear and tear". I'm 27 & in extreme amounts of pain! Is this nothing or just nothing they can fix?

Does anyone else have loss of lordosis in neck & spine, MRI showed this & several bulging discs, also showed severe muscle spasms on MRI. What I don`t get is my rhemy says it`s not from the AS?
