I have Crohn's and A.S. But have yet to start taking Humira. I am suppose to start it in the next few weeks. I have been on extremely strong narcotics (dilaudid and others) for the pain associated with both diseases. Has anyone that has been on Humira been able to either stop or lower their doses of pain meds? When I am taking high doses of prednisone I don't have to use as much pain medication but once I am off I fall right back into the same pain routine.

I'm currently having a flare that's lasting longer than I'm used to. If you were on Humira, and it worked for a while, what did it take for you to determine that it doesn't work anymore? I don't know whether that is happening, or whether I'm just experiencing what would otherwise be a major flare. The pain level is small - about 2 - and I wouldn't be concerned except it seems to be lingering longer than I'm used to.

I'm currently taking Enbrel injections weekly but I'm getting switched to Humira b/c Enbrel doesn't seem to be working for me anymore. I was told that a nurse would come to my home again to show me how to give myself the Humira injections. Are the auto injectors really that different? Anyone else make that kind of switch & find big differences?

Now that I know what is wrong with me, I feel like I can start re-building my strength. My question is, has anyone else noticed that the pain gets worse when you exercise? I know it is supposed to help, but it seems that the longer I keep trying, the worse it gets. I am doing very simple strengthening and walking around a block with a slight hill. It is killing me! Or is it just that the Humira isn't working any more?

Hi Everyone. It's been a while since I posted but I have been popping by to check in. I am now looking at the possibility of a switch to Simponi or Enbrel over my current Humira 40mg injections biweekly, with continuing 20mg of MTX. Has anyone gone from Humira to the others and had an improvement? I can tell no difference in my pain levels when I am on or off the Humira.

Just had a visit with my Rheumatologist and he informed me that from a recent conference he attended, they are now finding that the injections (ebrel, humira, etc) aren't working for people with AS like they originally thought. It still helps with joint damage and inflammation in the outter joints but doesn't really help with the spine and hips from fusing.. Anybody else hear this and how do you feel about it? This is a scary thought.. Back to square 1?

Just started Humira and was told to be careful about wiping down among other things gym equipment before using it. How about going in the pool, hot tub and sauna at gyms. Should I be concerned about "catching" something in these places?

Hi all, i have been using Humira for 8 months and just found out my partner is pregnant, although we are both very happy about it, we have a worry that the Humira could have an affect. All the info says women using Humira should avoid becoming pregnant. Can anyone tell me if Humira has any affect in men or is this something to ask my rheumatologist? Any help would be great, Thankyou!

Started Humira yesterday and I experience first hand the tiredness and headache. Also haven't had a bowel movement all day. Made it through the workday though. If this is the worse of it it's worth it for pain relief. Naptime now?
