Question for Tramadol users. Does it supress your appetite? I've been on Tramadol for about 3 months now, and at first it took my appetite away for about a month, then it was okay. I find that if I change "brand" of tramadol, just getting it from a different pharmacy, it makes my appetite go again! Anyone else had this?

No, but it suppressed my libido. I'd rather it suppressed my appetite.

I've been taking them for 2 days, my appetite is completely gone, and even tho I'm usually travel sick, I actually had to Get off of the bus to vomit earlier! (not like me at all). They're a myrical for my back, n hopefully my waist line will thank me too!

Yes. Ive been on it for three years on and off for severe ear pain, infection and mastoiditis. Im going through a bad patch and have started taking trammadol for the past three days and i havent eaten a thing. I dont fee hungry, i dont feel like eating, and im also worried im going to be sick if i eat. Trammadol keeps me awake too, yet for some reason i have quite a bit of energy too. It kind of subsides my pain but not greatly, im also on morphine for when it gets really unbareable. Hope u r well. Danielle x

I ttake 300 mg long acting tramadol. Yes, it does suppress my appetitie and gives me energy too. However, if I take it at night, my sleep is disturbed. If I don't take it one day, my pain is unbearable, as is my fatigue.

Yes I have no need to eat while taking tramadol.... I also have loads of energy, not sure if that's because the pain is gone or it actually gives me energy.. Either way. I love this medicine! I also love that it's not habit forming
Hope you are all well! Stay strong! Jennifer

I have also been on them since January this year. I have AS and HLA-B27 pos. I take 2 -  50mg a day. I have just noticed my appetite being suppressed in the last month too . I have had AS for 10 years and in those 10 years I never had my appetite suppressed with any other meds. So for me I know it is the Tramadol. The first week on it I did find myself a little sleepy but no more.

IF you have AS, one of the symptoms is loss of appetite.

I stopped taking my prescription Tramadol 50mg 3 times a day from my Rheumy, because I wasn't feeling well in my head and all I wanted to do was sleep. And that was with only taking 1 tablet!!!! The whole entire day!! So I flushed them down the toilet, hoping my Rheumy will come up with some other pain med. For me.
To answer your question, NO, I never had an lessening of appetite, whilst taking Tramadol.

Hmm. No, I can't say that it's ever affected my appetite. But I've been on it for about 6 years, so maybe at the beginning (I do recall losing some weight initially). I *wish* it would suppress my appetite!
