Have all that & ITCHY EYES< YES!!   And they water alot until I put in my gas-permeable contact lenses stop all that, I guess stopping the oxygen from reaching my eyes.  I once had an awful headache lasted two years until I was suicidal....really.  I saw nine doctors, and finally was told my jaw joint was completely degenerated so had the surgery.  I was only 25 then.  Now only occasional headaches which seem to be migraines.  Plus the neck, back & knee pain.

I have found that when I push too hard or sit wrong - I try to sit across from people, or do everything I can to not have to turn my head at an angle from my body for long periods of time.  I have my sofa set up so that everything with my spine (head to toe) is lined right up.  If we go to the movies we get there early and sit dead center (no looking up or down.)  I also keep a neck supporter in each car for when I'm a passenger and I use a neck brace and SI belt when I'm going to be doing something that puts more stress on my body.  It comes in waves for sure but if I've over stressed an area - especially my neck then all of the muscles around those joints start to spasm and get rock solid - which leads to the headaches.  There is so much we have to think about all of the time with this disease - and we don't look like anything is wrong..... Don't you just love that. My iritis was horrible before I went on Remicade.  I haven't had a bad bout of it since.

My doc gets sketchy about the continual prescriptions but I find Fiornal to work great for the headaches and neck spasms. And I'm just coming out of a bout with all of those symptoms (knock on wood).

I get bad headaches when my neck is in spasm, or my shoulder bad, I always put it down to being stressed. All I could do was go to bed try to get as comfortable as possible supporting the neck and used a heat pad with herbs and lay in the dark, could not stay upright. I get iritis quite a lot and eyes can get itchy with it.

I get all but the itchy eyes.  If your headaches are anything like mine, they may go in cycles.  I usually will have them for a few months and then I won't have them for a few months.  It is nice when they are not present for a while.  Yours may do the same.  They can be pretty terrible.  Usually putting a strong hand held massager at the top of your neck and base of your head, brings some relief.

My brother has been diagnosed with spinal stenosis on top of the AS because of the neck pain. I've just started having a lot of trouble with my neck and shoulders. Headaches have been there for years but so have the itchy eyes. I didn't think to include that as a problem with AS but the doctor is sending me in for a new MRI. It always amazes me that whatever seems to be going on it all comes back to the AS.
