I eat organic dairy and meat. I substitute bison for beef because it has less fat and I think it tastes better. Some organic fruits and veggies when I can. I eat no processed foods nor do I eat out more than once a week. What they do to the food in this country is insane. The more processed foods I use to eat the worse I would feel. If I do get weak and get crazy on the processed food and take out man do I feel it. It's just not worth feel crappy. I have been eating like this for about 3 years but I recently watched Food Inc and read the book "The Omnivores' Delimma" both really reaffirmed my discissions to be a consicous eater. Plus I learned that all of the toxins in food is hard for your body to out process and since our bodies are working so hard with AS it puts less stress on your body.
It was a guy from Food Inc that I was listening to on the radio today and everything he said makes sense. I also try to eat organic, but sometimes cost is prohibitve. It does cost more to eat healthy. I stay away from the processed foods as well. When I travel I go into a flare, so I am wondering if diet on the road has something to do with it. by Denise Cornell 2 years ago
Denise. Rather than the food you eat, although I'm not saying that it can not have an effect, could the culprit of your flares not be related to the traveling?
I know that I cannot stand more than 1 hour of sitting in one spot. That one hour in a vehicle is even worse, as there are only so many ways you can shift your body around in a car seat,(plane seat, if that is how you travel) and I to tend to flare when traveling.

So my question is why can't gentic altered food affect the human bodies immune system. They were also pointing out that most of food consumed by us is full of chemicals. How many of you eat an organic or meatless diet?
