IBS diagnosis since early childhood. Rheumy says she suspects it is really IBD because my GI tract got dramatically healthier after I started Humira.

Yes, always had IBS since before diagnosed officially. Just learned that my anxiety was caused by the IBS, not the other way around.

Yes. Celiac Disease for me. My doc says that if you have one autoimmune disease there is a good chance you will come down with more. Should we all thank our parents?

I get inflammation in my colon off and on. I have also developed a sensitivity to spicy food that I never had before. I love spicy food and refuse to stop eating it all together. I just eat a lot less of it now and that seems to be doing the trick for the most part.

This is very common to have these with AS. I dont but they (docs) thought for a while that I did as there was so much inflammation in my colon etc.
Thanks for the reply. After changing to a no starch diet things have def improved, i just wishing the dr's told me 11 years ago when i was diagnosed with ibs( think it might be ibd) . Not to just stay off foods are def triggers. I think this a big contributer to my brain fog i am suffering from.

- Just had a visit with my Rheumatologist and he informed me that from a recent conference he attended, they are now finding that the injections (ebrel, humira, etc) aren't working for people with AS like they originally thought. It still helps with joint damage and inflammation in the outter joints but doesn't really help with the spine and hips from fusing.. Anybody else hear this and how do you feel about it? - Now that I know what is wrong with me, I feel like I can start re-building my strength. My question is, has anyone else noticed that the pain gets worse when you exercise? I know it is supposed to help, but it seems that the longer I keep trying, the worse it gets. I am doing very simple strengthening and walking around a block with a slight hill. It is killing me! Or is it just that the Humira isn't working any more?
- I know this disease is the just about the very definition of subjective, but does anyone else have problems with their heels? When I wake up in the morning, it's like the tendons and ligaments in my heels have totally atrophied. I dread putting my feet on the floor, because I know how bad it's going to hurt. Does anyone have any advice? EDIT: What about shooting pains, does anyone have them all over their body? I've been told this is an atypical symptom.
