Do you keep an AS diary? If you do, what type of stuff do you record? What conclusions have you been able to draw from your diary? Did you show your diary to your doc?

I have kept a diary in the past, I would maybe have a chart, and fill it in for each day.
How you slept
Pain level for the day
How long did it take for the stiffness to wear off
Diet for the day
What activity did you do, swimming, shopping, and how you felt afterwards.
What meds you had taken, and especially if you had taken pain killers, how many and at what times
Your mood/stress levels for the day
Hope this helps, doctors don't see if necessary always, but it will help you plan, and you won't overload your day with tasks if you know how you will feel during and after doing them.

Thanks for your response. What kinds of stuff do you record about your diet? Do you find what you eat makes a difference to how you feel? I've heard that carbs intake can have an effect on AS but not sure about anything else. I guess it's hard to record your carb intake - what do you specifically record? The type of carbs you ate (i.e potatoes, bread etc.)? Or the weight? Or both? by Dan H 2 years ago
I have created a free one you can print or download at www.rhnegativeregistry.com in Excel format. I find it helpful to make notes between appointments, especially since I have both my kids going in for diagnosis as well. Between the 3 of us, it gets to be to much if I do not document it. My doctors love it, it lets them get to know "MY" disease better.
