Hi all two things: 1. How do I get my messages? 2. Has anyone taken Dilaudid? My PM prescribed 2mg and it's not working and I've been headachy, I was just wondering about others experience's with it.
I have no idea how to get your messages but if you figure it out can you please let me know? Lol i can't figure it out either. Only had dilaudid once and it made me pretty loopy. Im sure it was a larger dose than what you get from the dr since i was in the ER in severe pain but other than that i had no side effects. I actually needed someone to stay with me because i was so out of it but it made the pain go away. If it's not working for the pain maybe its not a strong enough dose. Not sure. Some meds give me headaches in the beginning but the longer i take them, the less side effects i have. If it keeps giving you headaches and no pain relief i would tell the dr and ask for something new. Hope you feel better!
I have had 3 massages in the last three weeks another one this Sat???I am surprised at the relief that I feel from them in body and attitude. My pain has decreased because of less muscle spasms and the best thing of all the stiffness has decreased (especially my hands, I can knit for so much longer!) it comes back after a few days in increments, but the time without is glorious???It is not a cure of my pain, but I get so much from them including a relaxed state of mind that I have been able to do more things.
I was given Dilaudid in the hospital but they had to change it as it gave me a nasty headache.
Hey Kimberlee, i'm not sure about the messages thing. However, Dilaudid is the pain med I take. I have 1 mg tablets, and can adjust my dose as needed, though 2 mg is the dose I use, and I find it quite helpful. It's short acting, only a few hours of "relief" it isn't complete relief, but it helps make me a bit numb and usually drowsy so I can get some rest. I found at first it gave me headaches and made me nauseous. Eating with it can help reduce these pesky side affects, but eventually.. . They are less of an issue. I still feel a bit loopy when I do take it, but find I don't have the headache or upset tummy quite as bad as I did when I first started on this medication, which was last June/July. I take it only as needed, which is sometimes once a day, sometimes not at all. I don't like feeling... :P so I only take it when I just don't seem to have any other choice. Hopefully it will start work better for you. Do you take anything else? NSAIDS, biologics? Etc? I take Naproxen as my NSAID, and I take Nortriptyline to help me sleep, Lyrica for nerve pain and then the dilaudid. It's not perfect but all those things together do help to get me some relief/rest.
