I would just like to say, "thank you" to all of you. I am 32 now, but I have known something was wrong with me since I was about 15 or so. This might sound horrible to say, but I'm glad I'm not in this alone. You all are terrific, and have given me a much better outlook, in just a few short days. I think this is a disease that needs to be brought to the public's attention, because as it would seem to me, research is not properly representing the demographics I am seeing represented here?
There are lots of groups on Face book which are really worthwhile, where you can chat to lots of other people with AS. This can help just to talk, to swop stories, ask for advise, or just to vent. If you want any more information, pleas get in touch
I have said the same thing so don't feel bad we already have it and glad to see you here because you do have it, its a lonely feeling. I was so glad to find this site, I had dreams of being the only one in the world like this. I look here often and feel I'm not alone and find that others have the same things going on in their bodys as I do, as to know I'm not going mad.
I feel the same thing, It's great not feeling so alone! I love that we have somewere to go with our questions. Without it I don't know what I would do. If we didn't have each other, well that's kind of a scary thought.
Welcome, Robert! I think there's information out there, and it certainly doesn't hurt to create awareness. The money just isn't there for research in the US, though. In this country, we only research diseases that you can make money curing. It's sad, but it's the way business works here. I think we'll get our best research out of one of the nations that doesn't follow our same economic model. Until then, we benefit quite a bit from the research that is done about RA. In any case, I'm glad you found us! Amy
No it is not horrible to say truthfully we probably all feel the same way. You will find great support and fantastic info on here, and on those days when you just dont want to deal with it you can find some direction here. It has made a huge difference in my attitude too.
