I'm 55 and have been battling AS now for two years without knowing what I had, like Feet, upper and lower back pains, Faciitis, Uvetis, etc. I was going crazy thinking I had so many unrelated problems. I soak in a Hot Tub that has powerful jets that hit my feet and upper and lower back all at the same time. Takes me from a 8/9 pain level down to a 1/2 and I stretch in there. I use it before I go to work and after I come home. We don't use chlorine, we use Soft Soak so it doesn't hurt my skin?
Sounds nice and warm, if it helps go for it. Any thing you find that helps I can't see what would be wrong with it you know your own body.
I lay in a hot tub or take a hot shower also but it doesnt cure what i have. It lasts for only a short time and then the pain comes back. I also have a hard time getting in and out of the bathtub, that causes more pain. I have a chair in the bathtub so i can take a shower without having to stand up and losing my balance.
Sorry, that doesn't work for you. For me, since it's a fairly new problem, the hot tub jets allow me to move my joints and allow mobility for hours. Then walking hurts, but begins to help move my joints. It's a Groundhog Day, because it all starts over the next morning. I'm not on any blockers yet, or whatever you call them. I'll meet next month with a Rheumatologist to find out my options there. I just wanted to let people know what has helped me. Thanks for your reply...
